Post-Doc Biotech Training Program

The Scintillon Research Institute's Postdoc Training Program is designed to prepare biologists for tackling scientific challenges independently and to help those who choose not to pursue an academic career to identify, adjust to, and progress through career paths of their own choice. The program includes up to three years of cross training with industry partners, enabling participants to translate research breakthroughs into new products and services with broad societal benefits. Furthermore, it provides the opportunity to transition into entrepreneurship development and develop ideas in Scintillon's start-up incubator, the SI-START program.

The program is designed to increase accessibility to people in less-developed parts of the innovation ecosystems, to increase participation of women and others who have been traditionally underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Scintillon has earned endorsements from its industry partners through donations for special postdoc fellowships, allowing industry partners access to a pool of highly qualified and experienced scientists for collaboration, recruitment, and clientele outreach.

The program also celebrates audacious and uncommon research projects that inspire and motivate trainees. It recognizes that open, collaborative, and transdisciplinary investigations are the most productive and rewarding for long-term career development. It equips trainees to confidently select among the various occupations that benefit from the depth and skills of PhD-trained scientists. By participating in this program, industry partners can give back to society by equipping capable problem solvers to tackle our future challenges and crises, while forming relationships and fostering talent that can be trusted and drawn upon.
